Springing Into Action

“Bueller? … Bueller?”

Well hey there folks,

It’s been 84 years... First of all, while our newsletter may have been absent these past few weeks, we have been hard at work behind the scenes, developing and editing various pieces of the app to roll out (never going to stop with that one) to all of you — the users! Between ping-ponging between headlines and news out of the current administration, and just, well, life, we are still committed to bringing you all the best possible app and user experience.

We have expanded our team to include some additional folks who are all trying to keep us in line, organize us, and find us money in order to really scale this endeavor (thereby keeping it free for you, the user), and trying to help Roll gain visibility.

Our growth has continued. We continue to expand into different countries, our user base has expanded, and our app is now available in Spanish. We are also working on some other cool features that we are so excited to share with you. Check out the updates in the, well, updates section below.

Last week provided an excellent opportunity for us to not only get the Roll name out in front of people, but to actually hear from current and future users of the app — maybe the thing that we all love the most. We had a sponsorship spot at the 2025 Reeve Summit in sunny Denver, Colorado along with Craig Hospital, Disabled Veterans of America, Motion Project, and many others. The summit allowed us to hear from leaders in this area, engage in some meaningful conversation around advocacy, and to hear some amazing stories. We love being able to connect with people on a one to one level and to hear from folks that use the app, but also being able to show it to people who don’t know what it is yet — the excitement was palpable.

Beyond that we are looking at ways of scaling up our production so we can continue to develop cool features (think: editing reviews, team competitions) as well as keeping us afloat in ways that allow us to continue to bring the people what they want, and hopefully make the world a little better, together.

As always, thank you for your support.

~Sarah

(Hi, yes, one of the new names around here. I’m Sarah. You’ll see my name on some things and I’m thrilled to be collaborating with this merry band of misfits.)

🔥 Roll Mobility WeFunder is Live! 🔥

We are so grateful for the support of our ever-growing community. We want to share our success and offer the opportunity to invest in a project you believe in. We have officially launched a tester campaign on WeFunder to gauge investment interest. WeFunder allows individuals to gain equity in small startups for as little as $100.00 USD.

The Legal BitWe are 'testing the waters' to gauge investor interest in an offering under Regulation Crowdfunding. No money or other consideration is being solicited. If sent, it will not be accepted. No offer to buy securities will be accepted. No part of the purchase price will be received until a Form C is filed and only through Wefunder’s platform. Any indication of interest involves no obligation or commitment of any kind.

App Updates, Now With 95% More Baboons 🦧

  1. You can now update your reviews! That’s right, you have the ability to go in and edit what you put before. Accidentally made a typo that is keeping you up at night? Mistakenly called someone a “baboon bottom” in your quickly fired off review that was meant for the restaurant review app that shall-not-be-named? Re-visited a spot only to find improvements? You can fix it! Or, expand on it. Or yah, you get the idea. You can edit your reviews.

  2. Usernames: Okay, you didn’t want to deal with the pressure of choosing a username when you signed up. We get it. It’s a lot of pressure. But everyone that didn't do a username will be assigned one randomly (don’t worry, you can still decide to choose one/edit yours) and we now have an auto-generator, so if you like living on the edge (Hey, get your thrills in where you can!) then let the auto-generator choose for you — let’s just hope it doesn’t come up with BaboonBottom7.

  3. Finally, we are launching something toward the end of April that we are pretty pretty pretty excited about (and have been working on diligently) that will allow you to compete with friends, or against friends (you do you, Boo). Think Survivor meets Roll Mobility meets Black Mirror. Okay maybe not that dramatic, but some healthy competition between teams of compadres, co-workers, baboons, friends — to see who can leave the most reviews. Don’t worry, I’m sure there is a prize involved, aside from ever-lasting eternal Glory and Bragging Rights.

We’d love to hear from you! Did we miss the mark or do you have an idea to make it better? Reach out at [email protected].

🌸 Spring Into Access 🌸

Speaking of the Reeve Foundation earlier, have you checked out their new outdoor checklist? With spring either just around the corner, or yesterday, or in three weeks, or next year depending on where you live, the desire to get outside as much as possible is upon us. The Reeve Foundation has formed partnerships with organizations like the Mesa Verde Foundation, Westchester Parks Foundation, First Descents, and Glacier National Park Conservancy to ensure that this checklist is adopted and utilized by as many park goers as they can. This is all part of the Reeve Foundation, ‘Outdoors for Everyone’ initiative.

By offering a roadmap of what to consider when designing or re-designing areas of impact they are giving parks and recreation centers the opportunity to ensure that those living with a disability are offered the the ability to enjoy the outdoors as everyone should. They address such areas as website and map design, information dissemination, parking/arrival/drop off areas, trailheads, trail design and maintenance. The ultimate goal is to share information, while helping to make outdoor spaces more accessible.

Have you had a chance to check this out? Or have you seen it in action? We’d love to hear about it. What has your experience been with the park system out there in the world?

We think we should get in on the action and put some reviews out there ourselves!

Do you have a spring or summer access story you want to share? We want to know about it. Send your story to [email protected].

Community Update

Now, for a bit of different tone, we want to address the elephant in the U.S. room right now. We know that many in the disability and accessibility community that are living with mobility challenges in the United States are grappling with fear, sadness, anger, and more given the recent potential policy changes under the current federal administration. Cuts to Medicaid, and other federal programs that provide essential support as well as the dismantling of DEI initiatives coupled with rhetoric that is questioning the capabilities of workers living with a disability has created an air of uncertainty, no matter your political leanings. Despite these challenges, we find hope in talking with each other, because if there is one thing for certain, this community has never not faced adversity, and we will continue to face it in community. And community is what our app was built on. We are looking for hope in civil rights protections through advocacy and legal actions and we are committed to a better tomorrow for all of us.
